I'm Emma Shaw
Founder of the Landscape Careers Network
My love for the outdoors has always been at the heart of what I do and I believe Landscape Architecture offers one of the most meaningful ways to shape the world around us.
I created this space to help people find their place within the industry, connecting emerging talent with real opportunities, guidance and a clearer path forward.
For 27 years, I worked in Recruitment and Employability at the University of Sheffield, supporting Landscape Architecture students as they navigated the often daunting transition from education into professional practice.
Along the way, I built strong relationships across the UK Landscape sector, relationships rooted in trust, collaboration and a shared commitment to supporting emerging talent.
I love connecting people, whether it’s by introducing a student to their first Employer, influencing an industry challenge that brings practice into the studio or helping an organisation rethink how they engage with Early Career Professionals, my work is driven by one simple belief that meaningful connections can change careers.
I’m known for my enthusiasm, creativity and ability to spot opportunities, often bringing the right people together at exactly the right time.
Now, through my community, I’m continuing that mission independently.
I support Students, Early Career Professionals and Employers across Landscape Architecture, Planning and Landscape Management, helping individuals build confidence and helping organisations build strong, future focused teams.
This community has evolved from years of conversations, collaborations and shared ambition.
If you are a Landscape Student, Early Career Professional or an Employer that is looking to grow and connect, come and be part of it, we would love to have you on board.
